THE five crew of the Philippine Air Force Cessna 208B EX Grand Caravan aircraft were safely rescued after it made an emergency landing Wednesday morning at the Mactan Cebu International Airport.
In a report by PAF spokesperson Col. Ma. Consuelo Castillo, the pilot safely maneuvered the plane back to Mactan Cebu International Airport for an emergency landing to avoid further damage and save its passengers after the plane’s turboprop engine caught fire.
The Cessna pilot said the engine caught fire a few minutes after it took off so he decided to immediate land at the Mactan Cebu International Airport.
Castillo said all five crew onboard were well and safe.
The PAF is now investigating the incident as well as the extent of the damage it caused to the aircraft which belongs to the first batch of C208B delivered in 2017.
