THE Regional Highway Patrol Unit 4A conducted a random drug test in support to Buhay Ingatan Droga’y Ayawan (BIDA) program of Interior and Local Government Secretary Benjamin C. Abalos Jr..
RHPU4A regional chief Col. Rommel Estolano said the random drug test was also in line with their campaign to achieve a drug-free workplace.
A total of 20 RHPU4A personnel had undergone drug tests conducted by the Regional Forensic Unit 4A led by Maj Robbie -Charles Villagen.
Screening test conducted on specimens submitted by the RHPU4A led by Estolano yield negative results for the presence of methamphetamine and THC-metabolites, both dangerous drugs.
According to Estolano, RHPU4A is one with Brig. Gen. Alan M. Nazarro’s campaign in making the Highway Patrol Group a drug-free National Support Unit of the Philippine National Police.
The official added that the random drug test was conducted on RHPU4A men to determine whether there are personnel involved in the use of prohibited drugs.
“This serves as evidence that RHPU4A personnel are serving well and embraced with all honesty to the mandate of the Philippine National Police, especially in our intensified campaign against illegal drugs,” Estolano said.
The RHPU4A recently held an anti-drug prevention campaign for transport groups to include motorcycle operators to ensure the protection, safety, and security of the commuters and motorists in the entire Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) region
