OPERATIVES of the National Bureau of Investigation – Anti-Human Trafficking Division (NBI-AHTRAD) rescued a minor believed to be a victim of sexual exploitation in Quezon province.
The NBI on Thursday said the rescue operation was launched following the arrest of a Filipino citizen in Australia for child-exploitation-related crimes.
The Australian Federal Police said child abuse and exploitation materials were found in the possession of the arrested suspect.
On November 16, 2023, NBI-AHTRAD operatives, supported by NBI-Lucena District Office (NBI-LUCDO), and in collaboration with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) of Candelaria, Quezon, executed a rescue operation.
The NBI-AHTRAD assured to pursue further investigations to arrest those responsible for the criminal activity.
