CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga – The Police Regional Office 3 under the leadership of Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr. has made significant strides in ensuring public safety during the election period.
In the PRO3’s effort to uphold the law and maintain a secure electoral environment, at least 400 assorted deadly weapons and explosives have been confiscated during the implementation of the election gun ban.
Since the start of the election period from August 28 to November 29, the Central Luzon police force managed to seize a total of 372 assorted firearms, deadly weapons, and explosives.
This also led to the arrest of 309 gun ban violators, with 272 cases already filed in court.
The community’s response to the strict implementation of “Oplan Katok” has been commendable.
A total of 147 different calibers of firearms were voluntarily surrendered, reflecting a cooperative effort towards ensuring public safety.
Some 489 firearms were turned in for safekeeping, highlighting the effectiveness of collaborative initiatives in maintaining peace and order.
“This accomplishment is a testament to the dedication and unwavering commitment of our personnel in securing our communities and upholding the integrity of the electoral process. We express our gratitude to the public for their cooperation and support, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts in fostering a safe and secure environment for all,” Hidalgo said.
