POLICE arrested a 39-year-old man for stabbing his own mother dead in Quezon City.
Nabbed was Romeo Opriasa, a resident of Amuslan St., Bgy. Masambong, Quezon City.
An investigation showed the suspect asked for money from his mother.
The mother allegedly refused to give money to her son that earned the ire of the suspect.
Opriasa went to the kitchen and grabbed a knife and attacked his mother.
A brother of the suspect who heard their mother shouting for help came to her rescue.
Village watchmen rushed the victim to the Quezon City General Hospital, where she died while undergoing treatment.
Parricide charges are being readied for filing in court against the suspect.
