A FOUR-YEAR-OLD boy on Monday died after he fell from the 27th floor of a condominium in Bgy. Lahug, Cebu City.
The victim’s mother told probers that she left her two children sleeping in the bedroom, including the four-year-old boy, to make coffee.
When the mother returned, the boy was no longer in the bedroom. She immediately looked for her son.
The mother was told that someone fell from the upper floor of the building, who was later confirmed to be her child.
Authorities theorized the boy went to the balcony and climbed before falling to his death.
Police investigation showed that the boy’s body hit a canopy on the third floor before falling to the floor near the swimming pool.
The child was rushed to the hospital but doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
The condominium management expressed their deepest condolences to the family of the child.
“We are committed to conducting a thorough review of the incident and implementing any necessary measures to prevent similar occurrences in the future,” the management said.
The boy’s father is an overseas worker.
An investigation is ongoing.
