POLICE are conducting an in-depth investigation into a 7-year-old boy who allegedly shot his policeman-father dead in their house in Sagay City, Negros Occidental last Saturday.
The boy was placed under the temporary safekeeping of the local Department of Social Welfare and Development in connection with the killing that occurred at Purok Eba, Bgy. Andres Bonifacio in Sagay City.
The victim was Police Staff Sergeant Lernie Alacha, 44.
Alacha succumbed to a gunshot wound in the neck.
Initial probe showed that the cop and his live-in partner were having a heated altercation at their dining area prior to the shooting incident. The exchange of heated words between the couple was reportedly witnessed by the young boy and the two’s 12-year-old adopted son.
The quarrel started when the jealous policeman reportedly confronted his live-in partner for having numerous TikTok followers.
At the height of their heated altercation, the couple engaged in a physical fight, prompting the boy to get his father’s gun and fire a shot that hit the cop in the neck.
The policeman died on the spot.
An investigation is ongoing.
