AGENTS of the Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group – National Capital Region Field Unit rescued in San Rafael, Bulacan a 32-year-old Chinese national believed to have been kidnapped by henchmen of an illegal POGO ring operating in the country.
CIDG-NCRFU chief Col. Joel Manuel A. Ana said that rescued inside the Momarko Warehouse located at Kalsadang Bago in San Rafael, Bulacan was Su Shipeng, a temporary resident of Guagua, Pampanga.
Shipeng was said to have been recruited by the syndicate before being held against his will for weeks when he discovered he has been duped.
Criminal charges for kidnapping and serious illegal detention are being readied against the maintainers of the raided compound, where the victim was rescued on Monday.
According to Col. Ana, the compound houses different companies hiring foreign staff, IT experts, maintenance and office managers who are being stripped of their passports to prevent them from leaving.
The official said that the operation was launched after the Filipina common-law wife of the rescued Chinese national went to their office and gave them information about the illegal activities taking place inside the compound.
It turned out that the Chinese national used to be a team leader of another offshore gaming office located in Tarlac and Cavite provinces before he was transferred to San Rafael municipality.
The Filipina complained that since last February, her common-law husband was not allowed to leave the Bulacan compound by his employers and that the latter was being held in an isolation and guarded by armed security personnel.
The chief of the CIDG-NCRFU intelligence section, Maj. Jet Sayno, led a surveillance team, which validated the woman’s information and immediately conducted a rescue operation.
