LAGUNA will soon have its own regional hospital to be constructed in the municipality of Bay.
Gov. Ramil Hernandez on Thursday led the groundbreaking ceremony for the regional hospital in Bgy. Puypuy in Bay.
Laguna Regional Hospital will unburden the Batangas Regional Hospital in Batangas City and Southern Tagalog Hospital in Bacoor City, Cavite, which are the frequent destinations for Laguna’s patients.
According to the Laguna governor,the plan to put up the health facility in the province was made possible through the efforts of his wife, Laguna 2nd district Rep. Ruth Mariano Hernandez.

Hernandez said the female lawmaker pushed for the approval of House Bill 9623 to put up a Level 3 General Hospital in the province to provide a wide range of services to residents and nearby provinces.
“Sa pamamagitan nito mas mapapalakas at mapapalawak ang public health care system sa ating lalawigan,” he said.
“Kasama ang Pamahalaang Panlalawigan ng Laguna, patuloy nating pagtutulungan ang abot-kaya at maayos na serbisyong medikal para sa lahat ng Lagunense,” he added.
Rep. Hernandez, meanwhile, said she considered the construction of the Laguna Regional Hospital a political milestone in her life.
“Ito ang matagal na nating hinihintay to address the concerns ng ating mga kababayan lalo na ang mahihirap nating kababayan na umaasa ng quality health service,” the lawmaker said.
“Narito na po, reyalidad na po ang pagkakaroon ng tertiary government hospital na kumpleto ang serbisyo, kumpleto ang pasilidad,” she added.

The female lawmaker thanked Senator Bong Go for the immediate action on her proposed bill and the Department of Health (DOH) for its steadfast support to the measure.
The Laguna Regional Hospital will be the first DOH-run hospital in Laguna and the first ever tertiary government hospital in the province.
Also present in the groundbreaking rites were Department of Health Region 4A Director Dr. Ariel Valencia, Laguna Vice Gov. Karen Agapay, Laguna mayors, Board members and other local officials.
