SENATOR “Idol” Raffy Tulfo grilled controversial Bamban town Mayor Alice Guo for her inconsistent statements and discrepancies of the documents about her true identity, including the different dates of her parents’ supposed marriage.
During the continuation of the hearing of the Senate Committee on Women Children, Family Relations and Gender Equality Wednesday (May 22,, 2024), Tulfo asked Guo about records showing that her parents tied the knot on October 14, 1982 and January 21, 1987, which also contradicts her claim that she is a love child.
Guo repeatedly claimed that she never discussed this with her Chinese father who supposedly took care of her after she was abandoned by her mom, which got the ire of Tulfo.
Tulfo said he is not buying Guo’s excuse and reasons, stressing that it is natural human reaction to inquire about your family history, especially if you are running for public office.
“Paulit-ulit mong sinasabi sa hearing na ito na kasambahay ang nanay mo.
Pinapalabas mo na kawawa ka at nanggaling sa humble beginnings. Pero siya ay kasal sa papa mo. Maraming butas ang statements mo,” Tulfo said.
The senator from Isabela and Davao got more furious when Guo seemingly tried to get the public’s sympathy by claiming that she loves her father and doesn’t want to blame him.
To this, Tulfo said: “Hindi namin siya sinisisi. Ang samin lang, I’m trying to find out the truth. Nililihis mo ang usapan. Kumukuha ka ng simpatya sa publiko by presenting a seemingly sad teleserye story. We know better.”
To really find out the truth about Guo’s identity and all allegations hurdled against her, Tulfo asked her to undergo a lie detector test, to which she agreed to.
