A SUPPOSED exciting island hopping on Sunday turned into tragedy when a woman drowned in Bataan.
In a report to Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr., the Bataan police identified the fatality as Romella Anding, 44, of Langka St., Bgy. Malagasang 2-b, Imus, Cavite.
Police were told the victim, along with five others, went to Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar in Bgy. Ibaba, Bagac, Bataan for an island hopping adventure.
They were onboard a boat and when they are in a deep part of the sea, a strong habagat wind hit the boat causing it to sink.
The lifeguards and other rescue personnel of Las Casas Marina were able to rescue all the boat passengers but unfortunately the victim was in a critical condition.
Anding was rushed to the Bagac Community and Medicare Hospital but later died.
