A 50-YEAR-OLD woman on Tuesday suffered minor injuries after she fell from the platform of the Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1) onto the train tracks at the Doroteo Jose Station in Manila.
A video footage showed a train was approaching the southbound lane of Doroteo Jose Station when the woman fell.
Alert driver immediately stopped the train.
“The LRMC team was able to respond immediately and assess the passenger status,” the statement from the Light Rail Manila Corporation said.
The woman was rushed to Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center for treatment.
The LMRC said it suspended the train operation at 12:42 p.m. due to the incident.
Train operations were resumed at 12:59 p.m. on the same day.
The victim’s husband told authorities that his wife had a history of hypertension and stroke.
He said his wife might have possibly lost her consciousness while waiting for a train bound to LRT Baclaran station.
