A SOLDIER on Wednesday died after he collapsed during a training in Ternate, Cavite.
Police identified the victim as candidate soldier Joel V. Jimena Jr. (157590-N) of the Basic School Marine Barracks Gregorio Lim, Bgy. Sapang 1, Ternate.
Jimena was declared dead on arrival at the San Lorenzo Ruiz Hospital.
Investigation showed the incident happened at 7:10 a.m. on Wednesday.
The trainee soldier was undergoing swimming lesson and practical application at the Katungkulan Beach Marine Barracks Gregorio Lim in Ternate, along with the other cadets, when he suddenly collapsed.
Jimena was rushed to the hospital but to no avail.
An investigation is underway.
