CAVITE City was placed under a state of calamity following a massive fire that hit two barangays in the city and rendered thousands of families homeless last Sunday.
The City Council presided over by Councilor Marriam Pinzon and attended by members of the City Council approved Resolution 2024-094 – A , declaring a state of calamity in the City of Cavite after a fire that hit barangays 5 and 7.
The declaration was based on the recommendation of Mayor Denver Chua and the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (LDRRMC).

Around 3,000 individuals or 900 families are seeking shelter at the Dalahican Elementary School and Sta. Cruz Elementary School.
The local government unit and the offices of Cavite 1st district Rep. Jolo Revilla and Agimat Partylist Rep. Bryan Revilla are providing assistance to the fire-affected families.
