A VILLAGE secretary on Monday was shot dead by motorcycle-riding gunmen in Baliwag, Bulacan.
Killed was Boy Silvestre, a 54-year-old barangay secretary residing in Sta Lucia St., Bgy. Pinagbarilan, Baliwag City.
A report submitted to Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr. by the Bulacan police stated that barangay tanod Herman Hermosa, 48, informed the police about the killing.
According to Hermosa, two unidentified men on a plateless motorcycle pulled over in front of the victim who was then washing his motorcycle.
Hermosa said he heard two gun shots and saw Silvestre bloodied and lying on the ground.
He also saw two men on a red motorcycle, with the backrider holding a gun.
The tanod attempted to throw a stone to the suspects but the backrider pointed the gun at him, prompting him to drop the stone.
The suspects fled towards Pagala, Baliwag City.
Silvestre was rushed to the ACE Hospital on DRT Highway, Bgy Pinagbarilan, where he was declared dead on arrival.
Police are conducting a follow-up operation to arrest the suspects.
