SEEKING employment in Japan?
The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) on Saturday said some 25,000 job opportunities are available for Filipinos who want to work in Japan.
In a social media post, the DMW said the special job fair titled “Konnichiwa Pilipinas! Kumusta, Japan!” will be held at the 3rd floor of Robinsons Galleria Ortigas in Quezon City on Aug. 1 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m..
The event was organized with the Embassy of Japan in celebration of the Philippines-Japan Friendship Week.
According to the DMW, 15 licensed recruitment agencies are set to participate in the job fair.
Companies will offer jobs in the sectors of construction, medical and healthcare, hotel and restaurant, and customer service.
The DMW said the job expo aims to provide a venue for Filipino job seekers to access legitimate recruiters.
It also allows potential overseas Filipino workers to learn about gender dynamics and potential risks associated with overseas labor migration through short information sessions on Japanese-gendered work culture.
In 2005, President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo signed Proclamation No. 854, declaring July 23 of every year as Friendship Day between Japan and the Philippines in honor of the Peace Treaty and Reparations Agreement inked by the two nations on July 23, 1956.
The proclamation also marked the beginning of diplomatic relations between Japan and the Philippines.
