FOURTEEN new transport network companies (TNCs) over the weekend were given the green light by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) to operate in the country.
The LTFRB said this is on top of the five firms which operations have been renewed.
According to LTFRB chairman Teofilo Guadiz III, the addition of the new TNCs is in line with their mandate to ensure that the riding public continues to benefit from advancements in transportation services.
“Aside from the accreditation of these new TNCs, the LTFRB has also released new transport network vehicle service slots to support the expanding ride-hailing market. This initiative would foster a competitive environment that prioritizes commuter welfare and accessibility,” he said.
Guadiz identified the newly-accredited TNS as PureRide Corp., UNLA LA Corp., Leggo Information Technology Solutions, Aztech Solution International Corp., Metrohills Transport Association Inc., Hail Transport Inc. and Angkas Technologies.
The others are GoCab Corp., Unified Transport Operations League Corp., Peek Up Philippines Corp., Get Express Global Corp., Para Xpress Technology Services Inc., Taxsee Philippines Inc. and RL Soft Corp.
Meanwhile, those with renewed accreditation were Joyride E-Commerce, Cloud Panda PH Inc., E-Pick Me Up Inc., Hirna Mobility Solutions Inc. and Grab.
The LTFRB said the accreditation is expected to increase competition in the ride-hailing industry and will give commuters more transport options.
