MAYOR Crisostomo Garbo of Mabalacat City in Pampanga on Friday said coordinated and sustained efforts are keys to stop the proliferation of illegal drugs in the community.
Garbo issued the statement as he led the 3rd quarter joint meeting of the City Peace and Order Council and Anti-Drug Abuse Council at Tabnuan Cultural and Heritage Center.
During the meeting, the mayor stressed the importance of staying vigilant and proactive in addressing emerging security challenges to ensure the safety and well-being of all Mabalaqueños.

Among the attendees in the forum were the city’s village chiefs, officials of the Department of the Interior and Local Government-Mabalacat, Mabalacat police, Bureau of Fire Protection-Mabalacat, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and other members of the city Council.
Among the agenda was the approval of a resolution amending the Peace and Order Public Safety (POPS) Plan for the calendar year 2024.
Updates on the current peace and order situation and drug clearing operations in Mabalacat City were also presented during the meeting.
The Anti-Drug Abuse Council reported the achievements and challenges faced in the ongoing campaign against illegal drugs.
Another key agenda discussed was the re-orientation of Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC) members regarding the barangay drug clearing program.
Garbo highlighted the essential role of BADAC members in the implementation of anti-drug initiatives at the grassroots level.
BADAC members were urged to remain committed to the cause.
The joint meeting concluded with a renewed commitment from all stakeholders to work together towards a safer and drug-free Mabalacat City.
The Mabalacat mayor thanked the Council members and stakeholders for their dedication and cooperation in promoting peace and order in the city.
