A RETIRED member of the Philippine Army on Thursday drowned while swimming at a resort in Dipaculao, Aurora.
The Aurora police reported ti Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr. that the fatality was identified as Elmer Gomez, 63, a retired soldier and an employee of the provincial government of Isabela residing in Bgy. Fugaru, Anganadan, Isabela.
Investigation showed the victim and some companions went swimming at Paradise Beach Resort in Sitio Asinan Purok 1, Bgy. Dinadiawan, Dipaculao.
Moments later, the victim’s companions saw him drowning and they tried to rescue him.Gomez was rushed to Dinadiawan Health Center, where he was declared dead upon arrival
