THE National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Thursday said criminal charges were filed against a Thai woman who was arrested last week for alleged medical malpractice.
Suspect Saralluck Sathianpeerawat underwent inquest proceedings before the Manila Prosecutor’s Office for violation of Republic Act 2382 or the Medical Act.
According to NBI Director Jaime Santiago, the suspect was allegedly conducting medical procedures such as nose lift, botox injection and mesolipo therapy without a license.
An agent of the NBI posed as a client and secured botox procedures for P10,000 from the suspect.
Investigation showed Sathianpeerawat does not have a license to practice medicine in the country.
