DUE to the ongoing effects of Tropical Storm Enteng, Malacañang suspended government work and classes in all levels in the National Capital Region (NCR) and Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) on Tuesday, September 3..
Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin confirmed the work and classes suspension in a text message to Palace reporters Monday night.
Private schools are included in the suspension.
But the Palace said the suspension of work in private companies and offices is left to the discretion of their respective heads.
Tropial storm “Enteng” made landfall in Aurora province at 2 p.m.. Monday. It was spotted in the vicinity of Maddela town in the province of Quirino at 5 p.m..
Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said “Enteng” will continue to head north northwestward or northward over Cagayan Valley or northern Cordillera Administrative Region before turning west northwestward over the Babuyan Channel by Tuesday morning.
According to PAGASA “Enteng” is likely to intensify Tuesday afternoon possible becoming a severe tropical storm.
From Tuesday through Thursday, “Enteng” will track westward over the West Philippine Sea.
The cyclone will then exit the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) by Wednesday, September 4.
