OPERATIVES of the Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group shut down an illegal Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) refilling station in Sto. Tomas City in Batangas.
PNP-CIDG director Brig. Gen. Nicolas D. Torre III said four employees of the Royal Gas Corporation were arrested during the service of a search warrant for violation of Republic Act 11592 ort the LPG Industry Regulation Act.
The search warrant was issued by Judge Glenda Mendoza-Ramos of the Calamba City Regional Trial Court last October 8.
Members of the CIDG Batangas Provincial Field Unit, in coordination with the Liquefied Petroleum Gas Marketers Association, raided the Royal Gas Corp. compound in Sto. Tomas City.
Nabbed were two operators identified as alias “Ronaldo” and alias “Nestor” and two office staff with the aliases “Roma” and “Leny.”
The raid also resulted in the seizure of over P4 million worth of illegal LPG equipment and products, including tanks, gas fillers, and compressors.
The arrested persons and the recovered pieces of evidence were brought to the CIDG Batangas PFU office for documentation.
PNP chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil has ordered an unrelenting campaign against illegal LPG refilling activities, which has been considered as “very dangerous” for public consumption.
