A POICEMAN on Sunday was killed after armed robbers exchanged shots with responding lawmen during a robbery at a supermarket in Nueva Ecija.
In a report to Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan, the Nueva Ecija police identified the fatality as PSSg Jhon Espinoza.
Espinoza succumbed to a gunshot wound in the head.
The cop was shot by the armed suspects who broke into the STM Supermarket in Bgy. Poblacion I, Penaranda, Nueva Ecija.
Investigation showed that members of the Penaranda police responded to a reported break-in in the supermarket but they were met with a volley of gunfire from the suspects.
During the exchange of gunshots, Espinoza was hit in the head. He was rushed to the Gapan District Hospital in Gapan City, Nueva Ecija but was declared dead upon arrival.
