DEPARTMENT of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Amenah “Mina” F. Pangandaman approved the issuance of an Authority to Purchase Motor Vehicle (APMV) amounting to P454 million to the Department of Health (DOH) to beef up the country’s healthcare system.
The approval of the APMV is intended for the procurement of 173 units of vehicles chargeable against the Health Facilities Enhancement Program (HFEP) of the DOH under the FY 2024 General Appropriations Act (GAA).
The HFEP aims to address healthcare delivery gaps and make the country’s facilities and services more accessible.
“The purchasing of additional medical vehicles will surely augment the ongoing structural enhancements of our healthcare system. Sinusuportahan po natin ang hangarin ni Pangulong Bongbong Marcos na bigyang-prayoridad ang pagpapalakas sa ating mga health facility para makapagbigay ng mas mahusay at maasahang serbisyo sa ating mga kababayan,” Pangandaman said.
The APMV will fund the procurement of 161 units of Land Ambulance, two units of Mobile Primary Care Facility (Mobile Clinic), four units of Sea Ambulance, four units of Passenger Van, one Van (Patient Transport Vehicle), and one Van (Mobile Blood Donation Van).
This APMV covers the second batch of motor vehicles (MVs), following the first batch of 141 units of MVs covered by the APMV issued on 11 June 2024.
Pangandaman approved the latest APMV on October 17, 2024.
