CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga — Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan said the commemoration of “Undas” in Central Luzon was generally peaceful and orderly.
Maranan said except for gambling inside a cemetery in Sto Domingo, Nueva Ecija, an incident of disobeying the police in La Paz, Tarlac and bringing a gun by a self-proclaimed army man without proper documents to the Cuyapo Public Cemetery, nothing major untoward incidents were recorded during the “Undas” holiday.
Police also confiscated prohibited items in cemeteries such as sharp objects, alcohol, gambling equipment, among others.
Security remained tight at the cemeteries for those who visited their departed loved ones on All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.
The PRO3 chief thanked the various agencies and force multipliers who partnered with them in maintaining order and security in cemeteries, terminals and other public places.
“We are constantly watching to ensure the safety of our public when they visit their deceased loved ones as well as when they return to their respective jobs. We also advise the public to follow the existing rules in cemeteries in their continued visits here,” Maranan said.
