OPERATIVES of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) rescued 23 women, including minors, and arrested three suspected human traffickers in a raid in Tondo, Manila.
Among those saved were 11 minors aged 13-17.
NBI agents raided the private resort in Bgy. 171 in Tondo on Wednesday following an information about the alleged sexual trafficking involving minors in the area.
Three suspects were arrested. They were identified as Anne Monalissa Sigua Co alias “Monalisa,” Raven Paul Dayrit Sanchez alias “Raven,” and one alias “Pearl.”
“Subjects were maintaining, harboring, offering and delivering girls for sexual intercourse and other sexual favors, even involving sexual violence, abuse and exploitation, in exchange for monetary considerations,” the NBI, in a statement, said.
According to the NBI, the victims were offered to Chinese nationals for amounts ranging from P8,000 to 15,000.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 9208 as amended by RA 10364 (Expanded Trafficking in Persons Act of 2012), RA 7610 (The Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act), and RA 11930 (Anti- Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children and Anti Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials Act) were filed against the arrested suspects..
