CAMP OLIVAS, San Fernando, Pampanga – The Police Regional Office 3 continues to strengthen its campaign against loose firearms to ensure public safety and security following the directive of Central Luzon top cop Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan.
Records showed that from October 1 to November 23, PRO3 confiscated 842 firearms in Central Luzon and arrested 239 individuals for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulations Act of 2013.
The seized guns included 832 short firearms and 10 light weapons.
Of the total number, 280 were obtained through law enforcement operations, 153 voluntarily surrendered, and 409 through Revitalized “Katok.”
Maranan urged the public to report illegal firearm owners or sellers and encouraged licensed gun owners to renew their permits.
The PRO3 director also said that his men arrested 1,326 law violators; confiscated 28 vehicles, 27 gadgets and P320,163 cash; seized 4,902.459 grams of shabu, 10,863.454 grams of marijuana and 26,000 grams of kush, with a total amount of P73,640,332.30 during its anti-illegal drug operations.
