AUTHORITIES on Friday rescued 24 women, including two minors, from a human trafficking ring in Porac, Pampanga.
A report to Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan by the Pampanga police identified the syndicate’s alleged leader as Jay Galang Panlilip alias “Bon Jovi,” 43, of Bgy. Pio, Porac Pampanga.
The names of the two other suspects were being verified.
Members of the Regional Anti-Trafficking in Person Task Group 3 (RATTG 3) and the Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) from the Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division (RIDMD), together with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and WCPD Porac police, raided a house in Bgy. Sta. Cruz in Porac, Pampanga and rescued the 24 victims and arrested the suspects.
The raid was conducted following informations received by the police regarding the alleged illegal activities in the raided house.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 9208 as amended by Republic Act 10364 are being readied for filing in court against the suspects.
The rescued women and the suspects are in the custody of the RATTG 3.
