AUTHORITIES arrested a female Zambian national for attempting to smuggle P63 million worth of shabu through the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Pasay City.
Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) chief Brig. Gen. Eleazar Matta on Wednesday said the 34-year-old suspect was arrested by the NAIA Interagency Drug Interdiction Task Group at the arrival area of the NAIA Terminal 3 at around 10:50 p.m. Tuesday.
The suspect yielded 9.276 kg. of shabu concealed in her luggage, with a standard drug value of P63,076,800.
The seized drugs were brought to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) for documentation and disposition procedures.
The arrested suspect is facing charges for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and RA 10863 or the customs Modernization and Tariff Act.
