A UNIVERSITY professor on Tuesday night was killed in an ambush by two armed men in Cotabato City.
Cotabato City police director Col. Jibin Bongcayao said slain was engineer Israel Angas, a professor at Notre Dame University’s College of Engineering and Computer Studies.
Angas, a resident of Bgy. Rosary Heights 3, was driving his white sports utility vehicle (NAU-8252) on way home in Nayon Shariff, RH-3, when two men on a motorcycle traveling in the opposite direction opened fire at him at about 6 p.m. Tuesday.
Village watchmen and volunteers rushed Angas to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Responding lawmen recovered at the crime scene at least 12 empty shells and slugs from a cal. .45 pistol.
Authorities are pursuing the gunmen and investigating the motive for the killing.
