CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo personally visited the wake of the two Bulacan policemen killed in the line of duty.
Police Staff Sergeants Dennis Cudiamat and Gian Gorge dela Cruz, both valiant members of the Bocaue police, made the ultimate sacrifice in the performance of duty.
The visit took place following Cudiamat’ and dela Cruz’ tragic demise in a police operation at Sitio Tugatog, NIA Road, Bgy. Tambubong, Bocaue, Bulacan on March 8.
The two officers were killed during an armed encounter while conducting a buy-bust operation.
The operation escalated into a shootout when the suspects resisted arrest and fired shots at police officers.
Despite the tragic loss, their bravery in safeguarding the community remains a testament to their dedication to service.
The Central Luzon top cop extended her deepest condolences to the families of the fallen officers and assured them of the unwavering support of the Philippine National Police.
“We mourn the loss of two courageous officers who gave their lives in the name of peace and order. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten, and the PNP stands firmly behind their families in this time of sorrow. We will ensure they receive the necessary assistance and support,” Fajardo said.
Fajardo led prayers for the departed officers, provided financial assistance, and offered words of comfort to the bereaved families, underscoring the PNP’s commitment to their welfare.
In recognition of their bravery and heroism, she posthumously awarded the slain cops the Medalya ng Kadakilaan, a prestigious honor bestowed upon officers who have demonstrated extraordinary acts of courage and self-sacrifice in the line of duty.
The PRO3 director also reaffirmed the commitment of PRO3 to seeking justice for the fallen heroes, directing all police units to heighten operations against criminal elements, particularly those involved in illegal firearms and other illicit activities.
“Justice will be served. This tragic incident strengthens our resolve to eradicate criminality and maintain public safety,” Fajardo said.
“We will intensify our operations to prevent further loss of innocent lives,” she added.
