CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga – Three former members of the communist terror group (CTG) surrendered to authorities in Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, and Tarlac, Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo on Sunday said.
The three also turned in their firearms and reaffirmed their commitment to a new path.
According to Fajardo, “Ka Glen/Berting,” a former vice squad leader of the SPARROW Unit under the Arcadio Peralta Command, surrendered to members of the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company-Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office (PMFC-NEPPO) headquarters in San Jose City, Nueva Ecija.
He also turned over a homemade cal. .38 revolver and two live bullets.
“Ka Louis,” a former member of the Bagong Hukbong Bayan (BHB) operating in Bulacan, Pampanga, Zambales, and Bataan, yielded to the 1st PMFC headquarters at Camp Alejo S. Santos, Malolos City, Bulacan.
“Ka Louis” handed over a snub-nose .38 revolver and two live bullets.
“Ka Reniel,” a PSR-listed former rebel since 2006 and former member of KLG-TARZAM under Neptali Santos (Ka Atong), surrendered to the 2nd PMFC Headquarters in Camiling, Tarlac. He turned over a cal. .38 revolver and two live bullets.
Fajardo hailed the surrenders as testament to the Philippine National Police’s relentless efforts in fostering peace and reconciliation.
“Each surrender marks a step toward breaking the cycle of violence and rebuilding lives,” the official said.
“The PNP remains steadfast in its mission to encourage former rebels to reintegrate into society and contribute to a safer, more peaceful Philippines,” she added.
Fajardo said these developments underscore the government’s ongoing commitment to peace-building initiatives, offering a new beginning for those willing to abandon armed struggle and embrace change.
