A FIRE, today, March 24, 2025, claimed the life of a child in Mandaluyong City.
Four others were injured and are now in a stable condition.
The fire struck a residential area on J.P. Rizal Street in Bgy. Namayan, Mandaluyong City around 6:38 a.m..
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said the body of the boy, aged 3, was found on the second floor of a lechon store which was being used as living quarters for the workers.
Investigation showed the boy was left alone inside the room when the fire started.
The kid’s father was slaughtering pigs when the fire broke out.
Aside from the living quarters, the fire, which was declared under control at 8:18 a.m., also destroyed the store’s stockroom and a nearby junk shop.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire and the amount of damage to property.
