A POLICEMAN on Saturday was arrested for illegal discharge of gun, a violation of the Comelec gun ban, at a resort in Pulilan, Bulacan.
In a report to Police Regional Office 3 director Jean Fajardo, the Bulacan police identified the cop-suspect as “Tony,” 31, assigned at the Plaridel Police Station, and a resident of Bgy. Agnaya, Plaridel, Bulacan.
The cop-suspect’s companion, an alias “Ber,” of Guiguinto, Bulacan, eluded arrest.
Witnesses told the Pulilan police that a man illegally-discharged a firearm within the premises of Tabing Ilog Resort in Bgy. Lumbac.
Responding members of the Pulilan police arrested the suspect, who turned out to be a policeman.
Seized from the cop-suspect’s vehicle were a cal. 9mm pistol, one magazine and 12 live bullets for cal .9mm.
The arrested cop is now under the custody of the Bulacan Provincial Forensic Unit, facing charges for illegal discharge of firearms, alarm and scandal, and violation of the Omnibus Election Code.
