SIXTY alleged flying voters were arrested by the police in Maguindanao del Sur during Monday’s national and local elections .
Confiscated from the suspects were a grenade, iron rods, and fake registration documents.
Bangsamoro Autonomous Region for Muslim Mindanao police spokesperson Lt. Col. Jopy Ventura, said the men – allegedly transported from Bukidnon, Sultan Kudarat, and Gen. Santos City – were intercepted at checkpoints near Buluan Poblacion.
A congressional candidate claimed the arrested individuals were “hired to vote and create disturbances using weapons.”
The suspects remain detained as authorities investigate potential election fraud.
