PAMPANGA police director Col. Jay Dimaandal on Tuesday said the conduct of Monday’s election in the province was generally peaceful.
The Pampanga top cop commended the efforts of the entire police force in the province, in coordination with the Commission on Elections (Comelec), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and various stakeholders, for ensuring a safe and orderly electoral process.
“Through our comprehensive security plan and the dedication of our personnel, we were able to prevent major election-related incidents and maintain peace and order across all voting precincts in the province,” Dimaandal said.
“More than 2,000 police officers, along with 477 friendly forces from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), were deployed across Pampanga’s towns and cities. These personnel manned checkpoints, secured polling places, and assisted voters throughout the province,” he added.
The Pampanga top cop also acknowledged the crucial support of local government units, barangay officials, and volunteer groups in the effective implementation of election security measures.
“As provincial director, I extend my gratitude to every officer and partner agency who worked tirelessly to ensure the safety of our constituents. The vigilance of the public and their cooperation contributed significantly to the peaceful outcome of this election,” he said.
Dimaandal reaffirmed their continued commitment to safeguarding democratic processes and upholding public trust.
He assured that post-election monitoring will continue in the coming days to ensure a smooth transition and prevent any acts of post-election violence.
“We are not letting our guard down. Our personnel will remain on high alert to ensure continued peace and order even after the elections,” said the Pampanga police chief.
