TWO South Korean men wanted in their country on Wednesday were arrested during “Oplan Pagtugis” launched by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Region 3 (CIDG3) in Angeles City, Pampanga.
CIDG Region 3 chief Col. Richard Bad-Ang identified the two foreigners as Oh Kyoungchul, 42, and Yang Koi Yun, 39, both of Jose Abad Santos Ave., Clark Economic Freeport Zone, Angeles City.
The two aliens are now set for deportation.

Members of the CIDG Regional Field Unit 3 Regular Shift Operations Team (RSOT), CIDG Angeles City Field Unit, Bureau of Immigration-Fugitive Search Unit (BI-FSU), Naval Intelligence and Security Group (NISG), Korean National Police Agency (KNPA), and the Clark Development Corporation (CDC) police launched an operation against the suspects based on an Interpol Red Notice in relation to a warrant of arrest issued against the two Koreans by the Seoul Western District Court dated June 16, 2018 for illegal gambling operations in South Korea.
According to Bad-Ang, the two Koreans were also the subject of a warrant of deportation for being the leaders of a ring group that filmed and provided illegal online gambling videos to unlawful gambling websites.
The official said that from August 2016 to June 2018, the two foreigners rented a house in Cebu and installed computers, internet system, video recording facilities and provided videos to website operators in which they gained unlawful profits amounting to at least 3.5 billion Korean won.
During the implementation of the warrant of deportation, authorities found that suspect Yang is in possession of an expired Subic-Clark working visa, making him an overstaying alien.
Records provided by the Korean National Police Agency showed Yang was involved in an ongoing investigation related to fraud using computer systems and other related offenses in South Korea and failed to appear before the investigative authorities there resulting in his inclusion in the wanted list.
The arrest of the duo was the result of a tip from a civilian informant, which led to the identification of their exact location, said Bad-Ang.
The arrested Koreans are now in the custody of the CIDG RFU 3 to be turned over to the Bureau of Immigration(BI).
