A NEWBORN baby on Wednesday night died in a motorcycle accident in Tagkawayan, Quezon.
Police said the victim was a three-day-old baby boy.
An investigation showed the infant was wrapped in a blanket and carried by his mother on their way home to Del Gallego, Camarines Sur on a motorcycle driven by his father when the incident happened.
The family were traveling on the road when unknown to the couple, a part of the blanket got entangled with the motorcycle chain and the baby was pulled from his mother’s arms.
The victim was caught in the chain and sustained severe injuries.
Responders found difficulty to remove the baby from the motorbike’s chain.
The baby was then rushed to the hospital, where he was declared dead by an attending physician.
