TEACHER SHOT DEAD IN LANAO DEL SUR

AN armed man on Monday shot dead a teacher in Lanao del Sur.

Slain was Danilo Barba, a 24-year-old teacher at Balabagan Trade School, and a native of Trento, Agusan del Sur.

A Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO-BAR) report showed the victim was walking toward the school in Bgy. Narra, Balabagan, when a lone gunman shot him at about 8 a.m.  Monday.

The teacher died on the spot from gunshot wounds in the head.

Lanao del Sur II Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Rubina Mimbantas Macabunar condemned the attack.

“We strongly condemn this senseless and violent act that took away the life of an educator who committed himself to the service of our learners and the community,” Macabunar said.

She urged the authorities to bring the perpetrators behind bars.
