CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga – Members of the Bulacan police arrested three alleged carnappers and secured the voluntary surrender of a female co-accused in connection with a foiled carnapping and serious illegal detention incident in Baliwag, Bulacan.
Arrested were alias “Boss J,” alias “Kulas,” and alias “Nap.” Their co-accused, an alias “Nic,” surrendered to the Baliwag City police.
According to the 42-year-old victim, a transport service driver from Taguig City, the suspects rented his Toyota Innova in Marilao, Bulacan on September 6.
The driver said the suspects forcibly seized the vehicle, blindfolded him and brought him to an inn in San Rafael, Bulacan.
However, the victim managed to escape by leaping from the second-floor window of the inn but he sustained leg injuries.
The driver sought the help of some people in the area who called the police.
Following the surrender of one of the suspects, a joint operation by the San Rafael, Marilao, Baliwag City and the Bustos police led to the arrest of the other three male suspects.
Both the victim and alias “Nic” positively identified the three men as those behind the carnapping try.
A follow-up investigation later showed the stolen vehicle was already disposed of to an unidentified buyer through a certain Mr. Bernardo in Quezon City for P150,000.
Personnel of the Highway Patrol Group are exerting efforts to recover the vehicle.
The suspects will be charged with serious illegal detention and carnapping.
Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Peñones Jr. lauded the swift action of the Bulacan cops.
“Our operations demonstrate the efficiency of coordinated policing and our resolve to bring criminals to justice,” Peñones said.
“Consistent with the vision of our acting PNP chief Lt. Gen. (Jose Melencio) Nartatez, we will continue to sustain enhanced police operations to protect the people of Central Luzon,” he added
