A NINE-YEAR-OLD girl died after she was struck by a lightning in Sarangani.
The victim, a Grade 3 student, was an ethnic Blaan girl.
According to the local Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, the tragedy occurred on Thursday in Bgy. Upper Suyan in Malapatan.
An investigation showed it was drizzling and the victim was walking on her way home when lightning struck.
Responding Blaan tribal leaders and personnel of the Malapatan Municipal Police Station immediately responded and found the girl slumped to the ground and dead.
