CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga — A series of intensified law enforcement operations across Central Luzon resulted in the arrest of 134 wanted persons and the confiscation of more than P5.6 million worth of illegal drugs and 51 loose firearms from October 19 to 25.
Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Peñones Jr. said police units in Central Luzon launched 177 anti-illegal drug operations that led to the arrest of 254 suspects and the neutralization of one alleged drug personality during a legitimate encounter.
A total of 837.382 grams of suspected shabu, 105.617 grams of marijuana leaves, and 12.884 grams of kush , with an estimated value of P5,614,573.60 were confiscated.
Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office (PPO) topped the campaign with 50 successful operations, followed by Bulacan PPO with 42, and Pampanga PPO with 28.
PRO3’s manhunt operations resulted in the arrest of 134 individuals with outstanding warrants of arrest. Of the number, 40 are listed as Most Wanted Persons (MWP) and 94 as Other Wanted Persons (OWP).
Nueva Ecija PPO registered the most arrests with 36, trailed by Bulacan with 33, and Pampanga with 18.
Police intensified efforts against illegal possession of firearms resulted in the accounting of a total of 51 loose firearms — 24 were confiscated, 19 surrendered, and eight deposited for safekeeping.
Twenty-two violators were arrested, and 21 cases have been filed in court.
Nueva Ecija again led with 14 firearms recovered, followed by Pampanga with 10, and Tarlac with seven.
One of the key accomplishments of the week was the arrest of a murder suspect tagged in the killing of Bulacan Association of Barangay Captains president Ramil Capistrano and his driver Shedrick S. Toribio on Oct. 3, 2024 in Bgy. Ligas, Malolos City.
According to Peñones, the accomplishments underscore PRO3’s steadfast resolve in sustaining peace and security efforts across Central Luzon in line with the directives of acting PNP chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. on Enhanced Managing Police Operations.
“Our mandate is clear: Protect the people, pursue peace and order, and promote professionalism. PRO3 remains committed to safeguarding every community in Central Luzon,” the Central Luzon top cop said.
