THE National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) on Sunday reported that 14 transmission lines across Luzon and the Visayas have been rendered unavailable due to the impact of Super Typhoon Uwan
According to the NGCP, nine transmission lines are affected in Luzon, while five are down in the Visayas.
Among the affected lines in Luzon are the Daraga-Ligao 69kV Line, serving the Albay Electric Cooperative Inc. (ALECO), Tiwi C-Pawa 69kV Line, also catering to ALECO, Sorsogon’Bulan 69kV Line, serving Sorsogon I Electric Cooperative Inc. (SORECO I) and SORECO II, Naga-Lagonoy 69kV Line, serving Camarines Sur II Electric Cooperative Inc. (CASURECO II) and CASURECO IV, Naga-Libmanan 69kV Line, serving CASURECO I, Daraga-Sorsogon 69kV Line, catering to SORECO I and SORECO II, Naga-Tinambac 69kV Line, serving CASURECO II, Naga-Lagonoy 69kV Line, serving CASURECO II and CASURECO IV (duplicate circuit), and Naga-Iriga 69kV Line, serving CASURECO III
In the Visayas, the affected line are the Palanas-Cara-Catarman-Allen-Lao-ang 69kV Line, serving the Northern Samar Electric Cooperative Inc. (NORSAMELCO), Paranas-Quinapondan 69kV Line, catering to the Eastern Samar Electric Cooperative (ESAMELCO), Babatngon-Arado 69kV Line, serving the Leyte II Electric Cooperative (LEYECO II), Calbayog-Palanas-Cara 69kV Line, catering to the Samar Electric Cooperative Inc. (SAMELCO I), and Calbayog-Bliss 69kV Line, also serving SAMELCO I
The NGCP also reported that two 138kV lines, one 230kV line, and two 350kV lines are currently unavailable.
It said that the inspection and restoration of lines in the affected areas will be in full swing once the weather allows.
