GUIGUINTO, Bulacan — ‘Basag-kotse’ gang hit a car parked in front of a supermarket in this town.
A report to Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Penones Jr. by the Bulacan police identified the victim as Dominador Lopez III, 34, an airport police officer and a resident of Sta. Ana, Manila.
Initial probe showed Lopez arrived at the Puregold supermarket and parked his Chevrolet Colorado pick-up with plate number NEP 5125 in the designated parking area before entering the establishment.
When Lopez returned an hour later, he discovered that the right front passenger window of his vehicle had been smashed.
Upon checking, he found out his sling bag containing a cal. .9mm pistol, his various identification cards and ATM, the P37,000 cash and a cellphone was missing.
The Guiguinto police are conducting a follow-up investigation and backtracking the CCTVs in and around the parking area to identify the culprit.
Police remind the public to avoid leaving valuables unattended inside parked vehicles, especially in commercial areas where thieves frequently operate.
