TEACHER SHOT DEAD

TALAVERA, Nueva Ecija — A public school teacher on Saturday night was shot dead in front of his friend in Bgy. Poblacion Sur, this municipality.

Slain was Reynan Tiangco,  39, a resident of the village.

A report to Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Peñones Jr. showed the gun attack occurred while the victim was having drinks with his friend in front of his house.

According to the Talavera police, an unidentified male suspect wearing a blue helmet and black jacket suddenly entered the compound and shot Tiangco repeatedly.

The gunman fled on foot after the shooting.

Tiangco was rushed to the Talavera General Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

Police are conducting follow-up operations to identify and arrest the suspect and to determine the motive for the killing.
