ELEVEN people on Wednesday were killed after a 10-wheeler truck rammed a passenger van in Camalig, Albay.
The names of the victims were being verified.
The tragedy occurred on Maharlika Highway in Libod, Camalig, Albay around 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
An investigation showed the 10-wheeler truck failed to slow down on the curve portion of the highway and struck the UV Express van from the opposite lane.
Both vehicles fell into the creek beside the road.
Initial probe showed the truck, which was on its way to Legazpi City from Camarines Sur, encountered mechanical problem.
Rescuers found difficulty to pull out the victims from the ill-fated van.
