PERSONNEL of the Bureau of Customs (BOC) seized some P14.9 million worth of high-grade marijuana or kush in a luggage at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 in Pasay City.
The BOC said the 18 vacuum-sealed pouches weighing 9.940 kilos of dried marijuana leaves was intercepted from the luggage of a female foreign passenger.
The suspect arrived on November 28 from Bangkok, Thailand.
“Those who seek to misuse our borders for illegal activities will be met with decisive action. Our duty stands clear, and that is to protect our people from the dangers of illegal drugs,” BOC Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno, in a statement, said.
He said the operation highlights the strengthened inter-agency cooperation under the administration of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and reflects the BOC’s continuing vigilance in safeguarding the nation’s gateways.
