SIXTEEN personnel of the Dolores Municipal Police Station in Eastern Samar, including its chief, were relieved from their posts for allegedly drinking alcoholic beverages inside the station during their Christmas party on December 15.
Eastern Visayas police director Brig. Gen. Jason Capoy on Thursday ordered the administrative relief of the 16 cops after photos of the alleged drinking spree circulated on social media earlier this week.
Police Regional Office 8 (Eastern Visayas) public information chief Lt. Col. Analiza Catilogo-Armeza said those involved were 16 officers, including the chief of the Dolores Municipal Police in Eastern Samar, and a non-uniformed personnel (NUP).
The police chief was sacked for command responsibility.
She said the PRO-8 will not tolerate any form of misconduct by its personnel and assured the public that violations of rules and regulations will be dealt with accordingly.
The Eastern Visayas police regional office has started replacing the 16 police officers with personnel from other units.
