MALACAÑANG on Friday announced that March 20, 2026 has been declared a regular holiday throughout the country in observance of Eid’l Fitr.
President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. made the announcement when he joined members of the Muslim community and leaders from across the country at the Grand Iftar in Malacañang, reaffirming the government’s respect for the traditions and contributions of Muslim Filipinos, according to Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro.
The Palace Press Officer said that the declaration recognizes the significance of Eid’l Fitr, which marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan, a period devoted to prayer, reflection, and fasting.
Castro said the Palace extends its greetings to the Muslim community in the Philippines and around the world as they prepare to celebrate Eid’l Fitr with their families and communities.
