AROUND 2,000 police personnel were deployed by the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) across Central Luzon as part of its “LIGTAS SUMVAC 2026” campaign to ensure public safety during the summer season.
PRO3 director Brig. Gen. Jess B. Mendez said the move is in line with the directive of Philippine National Police chief Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. to strengthen police operations and enhance public service delivery.
Mendez said the region’s police force will be placed on heightened alert from March 29 to May 31, 2026, as thousands of travelers are expected to flock to tourist destinations across Central Luzon.
“Our priority is to ensure the safety of the public by increasing police visibility and proactively deploying personnel in key areas,” he said.
Authorities will intensify foot and mobile patrols and set up Police Assistance Desks and Centers (PADs/PACs) in major convergence areas such as bus terminals, airports, seaports, highways, and tourist spots.
Road Safety Marshals will also be stationed along major routes to manage traffic and assist motorists, ensuring smoother and safer travel during the peak season.
The Central Luzon top cop directed all unit commanders to strengthen coordination with local government units, partner agencies, non-government organizations, and volunteer groups to ensure a unified approach to public safety.
Force multipliers, including Barangay Peacekeeping Action Teams (BPATs) and radio net groups, will also be mobilized to support law enforcement, particularly in crowded areas where criminal activities may occur.
“Security is a shared responsibility. We urge the public to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities immediately,” he added.
Mendez said the public may contact PRO3 through its hotlines 0998-5985330 and 0917-6235700 for assistance.
PRO3 reaffirmed its commitment to delivering fast, honest, and reliable service, ensuring that Filipinos can enjoy a safe and secure summer vacation.
